SKAJA FAMILY RECIPES
The Skaja family food fare is an olio of the various ethnic and economic backgroud of its many branches. Polish and German peasant dishes dominate along with the Great Depression Era food to feed multitudes. Through the years, the Skaja family showed good taste by choosing spouses that added to the cusine with flair and spice. Early recipes called for "from scratch" skills and usually were budget conscious. Later additions will utilize the conveniences of today's world. So, whether our contributers brought an animal down and ground their our flour; or tore open an hermetically sealed bag and unzipped a cannister; credit will be equally granted for the savory recipe contributions. Mark Twain, although not immediate family, gives us all inspiration when he reminds us that "Originality is the ability to conceal one's source".
